How to convert CUE files to MP3 files?

APE files, which include the CUE extension (according to MP3-Converter.biz), are commonly used with "Monkey's Audio." The format is highly useful because of its ability to compress audio without significant quality loss. However, while this format is useful for digital audio recording and mixing on a computer, it is not ideal for playback on iPods and other MP3 devices. To convert your high-quality CUE files to MP3s, you'll need a special converter program. Fortunately, with the right software and the right steps, conversion can be achieved in just a few minutes.

Step 1

Download and install Magic APE to MP3 Converter. Remember, CUE files are a subset of the APE extension, so this converter will work with your CUE-formatted audio.

Step 2

Double-click on the recently downloaded "ape2mp3.exe" file and follow on-screen directions to automatically install the converter software.

Step 3

Open your Magic APE to MP3 Converter software after the program has finished installing.

Step 4

Click Add Files located near the top left-hand side of the screen and indicated with a large folder icon. A new window will open after you have clicked.

Step 5

Use the new window to browse your computer's files, looking for the CUE file you want to convert. Click "OK" when you've selected the CUE file. Make sure you remember the location of the folder containing the CUE file, because the freshly converted MP3 file will be saved to the same folder.

Step 6

Select To MP3 from the list of conversion options, then click the Convert button located just beneath the "Add Files" button.

Step 7

Wait a moment while the program automatically converts the file; conversion typically takes less than 1 minute. Upon completion, a dialogue box will pop up asking if you want to view the recently converted file; click "Yes" to view the file or "No" to continue converting more CUE files.
